Terms of service

The agreement between you and us when you buy or use Beakon.

Last updated 14 October 2026

Who we are

Beakon is operated by [Company legal name], [Registered address], [Registration number] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through the contact page or at support@beakon.it.com.

What you are buying

When you pay for a package you get a license to use the Beakon service (“the Service”) within that package’s limits: editor seats, monitors, check interval, status pages, history and features, as listed on the pricing page on the day you paid.

The license is paid once. There are no recurring charges. It lasts for as long as we operate the Service, subject to these terms.

Your account and team

  • Give accurate details and keep your login secure. You are responsible for what happens in your workspace, including actions by people you invite.
  • Editors and admins use seats. Viewers don’t. You may not share one login between several people to get around the seat limit.
  • The person who activates the license is its first admin and can invite others and transfer admin rights.

Acceptable use

  • Only monitor websites, servers and services you own or have permission to monitor.
  • Don’t use Beakon to overload, probe for weaknesses in, or attack any system. Check intervals and timeouts exist partly to prevent this.
  • Don’t publish unlawful, misleading or infringing content on status pages.
  • We may pause monitors or suspend a workspace that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will warn you first and explain why.

Upgrades

You can move to a higher package at any time by paying the difference between the current prices of the two packages. The new limits apply as soon as the payment succeeds.

Refunds

Every payment can be refunded within 14 days. The details are in the refund policy.

How the Service works, and its limits

We work to keep Beakon running and accurate, but monitoring by its nature depends on networks and systems outside our control. Checks can occasionally miss a short outage or report one that a person would not have noticed. Beakon is a tool to help you notice problems; it is not a guarantee that your services are up.

We may carry out maintenance. When maintenance is planned and likely to interrupt checks, we announce it in advance.

If we stop offering Beakon

If we ever decide to discontinue the Service, we will tell every license holder by email at least 90 days in advance and make a full export of your workspace data available for that whole period.

Your data

Your monitors, incidents, status pages and check results belong to you. You can export them at any time. We process personal data as described in the privacy policy.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost revenue during an outage.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change to these terms, we will email license holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Changes never reduce the limits of a package you have already paid for.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of [Country]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
